Mike Thom

All through high school Michael took any and every Photography class he could. Michael was accepted to Temple University as an architecture major. After a year at Temple in Philadelphia Michael transferred to Northeastern as a pre-med student. It took one semester of organic chemistry for him to change his mind and return to his passion of photography.

This spring Michael graduated with a BA in Art from Northeastern University. Having been a student last year on the Venice photo program, he returned this year as the teaching assistant. After four years of employment with Ralph Lauren, Michael has developed an affinity for high fashion photography and the style that surrounds it. Now the head photographer for Vanessa Noel Couture, Michael will be moving to New York to pursue his photographic career in the fashion industry.

Currently Michael has two major bodies of personal work that he is working to complete. The first a photo documentary entitled "Monday Night @ Wally's" which is in the process of being published. Wally's is a hole in the wall eclectic Jazz cafè that Michael has been documenting for the past 6 months. The most recent work "Bodyscape" is a large scale project that comments on the abstraction of the human body. He is currently focusing on expanding the "Bodyscape" work for gallery representation in the near future.
